The Inferno Race
The Inferno Race in the Swiss Alpine resort of Mürren was organized for the first time in 1928 by a group of "ski-crazy" Englishmen. Today it is the largest amateur skiing race in the world. This spectacular annual event has become so popular that it had to be limited to 1850 competitors. The course covers 15.8 kilometres of contrasting terrain and topography, and is open to the skiing public outside racing times.

The Inferno Triathlon, with its ascent of 5500 metres, is one of the toughest in the world and already ranks as a classic. The Revolving Restaurant Piz Gloria
The restaurant offers 400 seats, arranged on two revolving solar-powered platforms. You can enjoy the panoramic view from every seat. The view extends from the Titlis, along Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau to Mont Blanc and far across the low lands to the Black Forest. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Various scenes of the James Bond film "On Her Majesty’s Secret Service" were shot at Lauterbrunnen while Piz Gloria and Schilthorn were shown as the enemy’s headquarters in the Alps. Nowadays James Bond fans are shown video clips of the movie on the Schilthorn and of course Bond’s favourite Martini is served at the James Bond-Bar. James Bond breakfast, a huge buffet is served daily in the Piz Gloria restaurant.
